Lily Stained GlassYour wedding day should be one of the happiest and most memorable days of your life. It’s also one of the most important ones. Your family and friends are delighted for you and the Church is delighted too.

Your wedding day is so much more than a great occasion: it’s the beginning of a new journey that you and your partner will make together: a journey that will last a lifetime.

In our Parish, we are fortunate to have two very different churches to choose from:

St George’s, Seatoun has a wonderful light and airy ambiance with sweeping lawns and garden where your friends and family can gather before and after the ceremony.  The church seats about 130 with no effort, and up to 200 with a bit of seat-juggling.  St George’s provides wonderful photo opportunities because of its proximity to the Seatoun shoreline and Pier.

st aidanSt Aidan’s, Miramar features a classic wooden, late-colonial interior typical of many older Anglican churches in New Zealand (it’s a bit like Old St Paul’s, only smaller). A warm traditional setting with an enclosed glass gathering area for your guests.  It can seat 200 with extra chairs at the back.

We’re happy to discuss wedding options with you. We also offer marriage preparation courses through the popular Prepare/Enrich programme.  (To be married in an Anglican church, we have to be satisfied that you’ve been educated in what marriage means, and Prepare/Enrich is a great way to go about that).

Please be aware that Anglican Church regulations mean that it is not possible for clergy from other churches to take weddings at St Aidan’s or St George’s. Other clergy can be involved in the ceremony but the celebrant must be a suitably licensed Anglican priest.
